Carmen was born in Jaén in 1993, she started playing guitar at the age of ten, after completing her Bachelor's Degree in Vocal Studies with Juan Luque at the Conservatory in Córdoba (Conservatorio Rafael Orozco). She moved to Italy where she studied in “Conservatorio Luigi Cherubini” in Florence with Donatella Debolini where She completed her Singing Master’s Degree (2020).
Actually, She study with the great Mezzosoprano Sonia Ganassi.
In August 2015, she was part of The Accademia Rossiniana in Pesaro (Italy), before two years she was part of the The Accademia del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, where she has participated in concerts and productions. She was finished the studies on the Accademia Belcanto “Rodolfo Celletti”, at the Festival dalla Valle D’Itria.
Buendía has performed the roles of Violetta (La Traviata, 2018), Berta (Il Barbiere di Siviglia, 2019 and 2020), Delia (Il viaggio a Reims 2015 and 2020), Suora Infermiera (Suor Angelica, 2019), Anna (Nabucco, 2020), Marcellina (Le Nozze di Figaro, 2022) and Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni, 2022) on the stages of such esteemed venues as Teatro Rossini di Pesaro, Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Teatro Alessandro Bonci di Cesena, Teatro de La Fenice di Venezia, Teatro Alighieri di Ravenna, Teatro Comunale di Sassari, Gran Teatro de Córdoba, Teatro Infanta Leonor de Jaén etc. She has been conducted by Valerio Galli, Michele Gamba, Paolo Carignani, and stage directors Damiano Michieletto, Denis Krief, Leo Muscato, Georg Rootering, Paolo Gavazzeni , Pietro Maranghi… She shared the stage with great artist as Maria José Siri, Plácido Domingo, Luca Michieletti, Vasilisa Berzhanskaya, and others.
In October 2019, she took part in the concert Invito All’opera Leone Magiera e..at Teatro de La Fenice in Venice.
She has won numerous awards in several national and international Music Competitions, including First Prize at the International Lyric Competition “Ciudad de Logroño” (2019), “Certamen Nuevas Voces Ciudad de Sevilla” (2021), “Un Futuro Dearte” and “Compostela Lirica” (2022); Second Prize at the International Lyric Competition “Giulio Neri” (2018) and at International Lyric Competition of Alicante (2019), Third Prize at the Competition “Premio Fausto Ricci” (2018) and at International Lyric Competition “Mario Orlandoni”. First Prize. She is awarded and gets various scholarships by Jeunesses Musicales de Madrid in the XVII, XXVIII, XIX and XX Edition (2016, 2017,2018 and 2019) obtaining the First Prize for four consecutive years under the Presidency of Honor of SS. MM. Queen Sofia. On the 2021, Extraordinary Prize Ferrer-Salat at the prestigious International Singing Contest Tenor Viñas (Barcelona 2021).
